Chapter 2

Narrative architecture for Story’s AI pivot, anchored by the Poseidon launch

In July 2025, Story stopped describing itself as IP infrastructure and started describing itself as AI infrastructure. Three weeks, five priority announcements, one thesis: real-world data is the most valuable subset of IP, and physical AI’s biggest bottleneck.

I led narrative architecture and Story-side comms across the rollout: authoring all teasers and socials, sequencing announcement timing, and coordinating how Story positioned itself around the launch of Poseidon, our first incubated app.

“AI’s next leap isn’t about bigger models. It’s about IP and its most valuable category: real-world data.”

From the Chapter 2 announcement

The challenge wasn’t announcing one thing. It was making five things read as one thing. Each announcement — the strategic vision, the executive hire, the partnership, the product launch, the institutional product — needed to be its own moment, while collectively building a case that Story’s thesis on AI was deliberate, sequenced, and serious.

The work spanned three concurrent tracks:

  • narrative authoring across socials and teasers
  • announcement sequencing and traffic control
  • cross-team coordination with the Poseidon launch

Narrative & Copy

Owned the Story voice across the arc. Wrote all teasers, social copy, and announcement messaging timed to each beat in the sequence. The thesis had to be specific enough to make Story sound serious about AI, but broad enough that the subsequent announcements — the Chief AI Officer hire, the Poseidon launch, the Grayscale trust — all read as evidence of it. The language did both: it framed AI’s bottleneck as real-world data, named the $80T IP economy, and positioned Story as the only protocol building infrastructure for it.

Sequencing & Timing

Coordinated a tight choreography of five connected announcements across three weeks in July. Each had to land with enough breathing room to be its own moment, but tight enough that the pattern was visible. The pattern was the point: this wasn’t pivot-talk, it was a pivot in motion.

July 9 World Network partnership
July 10 Chapter 2 vision announcement
July 17 Sandeep Chinchali joins as Chief AI Officer
July 22 Poseidon launches with $15M seed from a16z
July 31 Grayscale Story Trust goes live

“Robots, AVs, voice systems — the future of AI exists in the real world. Real-world data is one of the most valuable subsets of IP and physical AI’s biggest bottleneck.”

Story Side of Poseidon

Poseidon is an independent company incubated out of Story. Their team owned their launch comms; I owned how Story talked about it. Two parallel streams of content, one shared moment. I authored Story’s announcement of Poseidon, coordinated teasers from the @StoryProtocol handle to prime our community, and helped translate Poseidon’s first 48 hours of attention into 12,000+ new followers on their channel.
