Making Data Feel Physical
A major part of the creative direction was grounding an otherwise abstract category in the real world. ‘AI data’ often invokes files sitting in a database, so the challenge was drawing people away from that mental image. In actuality, data starts with people, places, objects, movement, media, and everyday activity. We wanted the brand to reflect that origin.
The resulting direction was more tactile, earthy, and human. Photography and motion emphasized texture, physical environments, and real-world actions. Digital treatments layered over that imagery showed how those moments become structured, legible data.
Narrative & Launch
On the messaging side, I helped establish the new positioning and translate it across social, launch content, video, and partner communications.
A career high point: concepting, scripting, scoping, and shooting the brand launch film. 30+ actors, 6 locations, 5 weeks.
The rebrand went beyond introducing Data Foundation as simply a new name; it was a clearer articulation of where the organization was headed: building infrastructure for a world where more and more real-world information becomes valuable training data for AI. The launch created a foundation we could continue building on as the company moved deeper into data provenance, licensing, and AI infrastructure.
